Benefits and Compensation Committee
The primary goal in this area is to maintain fairness and equity for P&A staff. The committee monitors the planning and implementation of University policies to ensure that P&As receive fair representation. It is important that P&A staff are part of unit decisions regarding salaries and other issues. This committee works on vacation, health care, compensation principles, retirement and human resource policy and procedure issues. A representative from this committee also sits on the University's Benefits Advisory Committee. For more information contact Steve Pearthree at spearthr@umn.edu.

The Communication Committee is responsible for providing P&A staff with the most reliable and timely information on current events. These efforts include brochures, articles, forums, workshops, Web site, e-mail, and monthly highlights. The committee manages the overall image and messages of CAPA. For more information contact Susan Doerr at doer0012@umn.edu.

How to get involved:
CAPA is an organization of volunteers. You can participate by joining your unit's P&A staff team.
You can also:
Become a CAPA Representative
Representatives are elected by their unit constituents and serve three year terms. Representatives have a voice in establishing University policies and interact with other University governing bodies.
Attend a CAPA Meeting
CAPA meetings are held on the third Friday of each month and are open to the public. Meetings are scheduled every third Friday of the month beginning in September and take place in 101 Walter Library at 8:30am.
Serve on a CAPA Committee
To serve on a committee, P&As do not need to be a CAPA representative to serve on a CAPA Committee. Each committee has a different charge and is run by volunteers. For questions regarding a committee contact the committee chair or any CAPA representative.
